Most audits end in a PDF. This one ends in a working site.

The standard technical SEO audit is a sixty-page document listing problems, handed to a client who then has to find a developer willing to act on it. Half the items get misunderstood, a quarter never get done, and the report is stale within a month. It is a strange way to sell a service, and it persists because most SEO consultants cannot implement what they find.

Because I build the sites, an audit here ends differently: I find the problems, explain which ones actually matter for your rankings, and then fix them. Crawl traps, orphaned pages, indexation bloat, duplicate titles, broken redirect chains, missing schema, render-blocking resources, Core Web Vitals failures — these are development problems wearing SEO clothing, and they are fixed in code rather than described in a slide.

You get the findings as a prioritised list with expected impact, and a clear split of what I will fix versus what needs a decision from you.

What is included

01

Full crawl and indexation analysis

Every URL crawled, comparing what exists against what Google has indexed, and identifying why the gap exists.

02

Core Web Vitals and speed

LCP, INP and CLS measured on real page loads, with the specific code and asset changes that move them.

03

Site architecture and internal linking

Click depth, orphan pages, link equity distribution and a navigation structure that matches how people search.

04

Duplicate and thin content

Duplicate titles, descriptions and near-identical pages found and consolidated or differentiated.

05

Structured data implementation

Schema markup added and validated — Organization, Service, FAQ, Breadcrumb, Product and Review where applicable.

06

Redirects, canonicals and crawl budget

Redirect chains flattened, canonical conflicts resolved, robots and sitemap corrected so crawl budget goes to pages that matter.

Why it is worth doing properly

  • Fixes applied in code, not emailed to you as a to-do list
  • Problems ranked by actual ranking impact rather than by tool severity score
  • Faster pages, which helps rankings and conversion at the same time
  • A re-crawl afterwards proving each issue is genuinely resolved

How it works

From first call to launch

The same seven steps on every project, so you always know what happens next.

01

Discovery call

A straight conversation about what the business does, what is not working and what success looks like. No slide deck. If I am not the right fit for the project, I will say so here rather than three weeks in.

45-60 minutes
02

Written scope and fixed quote

You get a document listing exactly what will be built, what is excluded, the timeline in milestones and a fixed price. Nothing starts until you have read it and agreed. The scope is yours to keep either way.

2-4 days
03

Design you can click

Wireframes first for structure, then visual design. For websites you approve a working page in the browser rather than a flat image, so what you sign off is genuinely what gets built.

1-2 weeks
04

Build in visible milestones

Development runs in two-week milestones on a staging URL you can open any time. You see progress as it happens instead of receiving a status report about work you cannot verify.

2-16 weeks
05

Testing and your review

Cross-browser and mobile testing, speed and security checks, and a review round where your team uses the system properly and lists what needs changing before launch.

3-7 days
06

Launch and handover

Deployment, analytics and Search Console setup, a walkthrough recording for your team, documentation, and full credentials handed over. You own everything, including the source code.

1-2 days
07

Support after launch

A warranty period covering any bugs at no charge, then an optional maintenance plan for updates, backups, monitoring and new features. No lock-in either way.

FAQ

Technical SEO — common questions

The questions that come up on almost every enquiry, answered honestly.

What is the difference between this and a free SEO audit tool?
Automated tools flag hundreds of issues weighted by generic severity, most of which have no bearing on your rankings. The value here is judgement — knowing that a missing meta keyword tag is irrelevant while a canonical pointing at the wrong URL is quietly deindexing your best pages — plus actually implementing the fixes.
Will you work on a site you did not build?
Yes, that is most of this work. Any platform is fine — WordPress, Shopify, Laravel, custom PHP, React. If the codebase is inaccessible I will still audit and produce implementation-ready instructions specific enough for your developer to act on without interpretation.
How long before rankings improve after technical fixes?
It depends what was broken. Fixing pages that were blocked from indexing can show results within days of a re-crawl. Speed and architecture improvements are gradual and compound over one to three months. Technical SEO mostly removes ceilings rather than creating rankings — if your content is not competitive, fixing the crawl will not save it, and I will tell you if that is the situation.
Do you provide a report I can share internally?
Yes. A written report with each issue, why it matters, its priority, and its status once work is done. It is written to be read by a business owner, not only by another SEO.
Can you audit a site before I buy it?
Yes, and it is worth doing. Pre-purchase audits check for manual penalties, spammy backlink profiles, hidden deindexation, expired-domain history and technical debt that would be expensive to inherit.
